If you have any product such as iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, 2nd Generation Apple TV, or 6th Generation iPod nano, you would probably be having a lot of troubles regarding the restrictions made by Apple. Basically, Apple tightly controls all of their products which is based on the iOS operating system. These controls have a wide range of varieties  of restrictions which normally limits users to customize the look and feel of their devices and preventing users from installing software on the devices that usually isn’t available in Apple’s App Stores. Apple has these limitations to reduce security flaws, preventing scam, and malicious apps from infecting users’ devices that might come from third party applications. So if a user only installs apps from the App Store, Apple is able to ensure that all apps maintain at least a minimum of coding quality and security.

However, there is an opposing view about the Apple’s control over the devices they produce. The users often have a lot of complaints over the restrictions that Apple has in their products. Their complaints further states that Apple is denying users the freedom to use their devices the way they would like and trying to get control over what gets installed on the devices. So this is where people started to find ways to unlock their devices and the word Jailbreak was soon introduced over the market.

First of all, let me tell you what is the definition of Jailbreak.

Jailbreak or jailbreaking is simply a process of removing the limitations imposed by Apple on devices running the iOS operating system through use of custom kernels. It is used to modify the operating system running on an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad which will allow users of greater control over their device and remove Apple-imposed restrictions, install apps from third parties other than the official App Store, change the themes and feel of your devices, create ringtones from your iTunes, and many more. But once you Jailbreak your device, there is no returning back. Apple does not support devices that have been damaged after jailbreaking as it is considered as voiding your warranty, meaning you can’t rely on AT&T, Verizon, or Apple to fix any problems you encounter after this process. For example, the process of jailbreaking your iPhone may damage or completely disable your iPhone sometimes. Though not all users have had this experience but even if you encounter such damage, you can’t count on AT&T, Verizon, or Apple to provide you tech support once you’ve taken this unauthorized step.
